Thoughts and Languages

Humans express thoughts and feelings through languages.  Languages enable humans to write down knowledge so that others can receive knowledge.  How far can languages express thoughts accurately?  When one says Yes, different intonations of the same word, Yes, delivers different meanings.  For examples,…

Yes! Yes! Yes!  (When we are excited and totally agree, we will say Yes with a higher pitch.)

Um… Yes  (When we doubt and may partly accept , we will say Yes with a lower pitch.)

It is absolutely fine if everyone is able to perceive the meanings of words with emotional feeling expressed through the intonations of voices.  We are not taught to understand emotions of a person at schools.  If someone is more intuitive, it is easier for him or her to make out the meaning of emotional expression.  Perception is very personal.   Everyone thinks differently on the same subject.   That makes language malfunction.   That is the main cause of misunderstanding and conflicts in every type of a relationship.

In the Indian movie Peekay, Jaggu asked her boyfriend to marry her and waited him at a church on the next day.  Then, in the church, she got a letter without signature stating rejection of their marriage due to different races from a boy.  In fact, she was not the right recipient of the letter but she did not verify the message of the letter and believe that she was the correct receiver of the letter.   She was so sad and left the church….   Languages in form of letters cannot deliver the whole message completely so she misunderstood that her boyfriend did not want to marry her.   There was another scene that she was drunk and crying when she read her ex-boyfriend’s name from a name card.  PK asked her what’s wrong and she said “Nothing.”.  Then PK read her mind by holding her hands seeing she was recalling the memories of her ex-boyfriend.  “Nothing” can mean either nothing or something is going on.

I have heard a true story when I was learning something similar to life and growth in a course at night.   A classmate who was a mother sharing us her real and true experience.  Once, she was so angry with her son shouting at him “Go to kill yourself.”.  Then, his son was jumping out of the window and killing himself by falling down from a building.  She was regretful to say that and told us “Lives affect lives.”.  In her mind (thoughts), she loved her son very much.  However, her words (languages) failed to deliver her love to her son.

 – When some people are very angry, they may say something which are negative and harmful to others at whom they are mad.  In fact, they don’t mean it.  They just cannot control their minds.  There are two ways to help a person – Love or Fear.  She loves his son so much that she tried to stop him doing something by fear.  Fear is the energy which extracts and harms.  It is dangerous to use the energy of fear to help others because it may harm them.

I believe everyone has the potential to perceive other’s thoughts by holding other’s hands like PK.  It can also be done without holding other’s hand too.  There was a scientific experiment showing that a mother could know her baby was crying even though her baby was staying in a room located 5 meters away from the mother.  A husband would move his hand to pick up something because his wife wanted to do so at the moment.  Our minds are interconnected but our minds are so busy that we have not realized we can receive other’s thoughts intuitively and subconsciously.

This contradiction creates misunderstanding and conflicts in relationships.  We rely on languages so much that we hardly see the deficiency of languages.  When we interact with others, we understand someone by verification of his or her speeches and behaviours.  This is one of the ways to minimize misunderstanding and conflicts.  We also bear in minds that we shall give up our grasping attitudes and perceive everyone with calm minds and equilibrium.  Then, we can see complete picture of a person.  When we perceive a person by our minds and not only by words, appearances, etc., we will realize how accurate it is.  The mind has all resources we need.  If we are able to develop this inner wisdom of our minds, we will go beyond – learning not solely through languages.  We will see the truths and the operation of the universe from our minds.Humans express thoughts and feelings through languages.  Languages enable humans to write down knowledge so that others can receive knowledge.  How far can languages express thoughts accurately?  When one says Yes, different intonations of the same word, Yes, delivers different meanings.  For examples,…
